Discover Timeless Elegance at Newport’s Brenton Hotel: Where Classic New England Charm Meets Opulent Comfort

    Brenton Hotel

The Brenton Hotel opened its doors along Long Wharf in 2020, with the mission to redefine hospitality in the area.

This boutique hotel features 57 uniquely themed rooms inspired by the sea. It is strategically situated close to the vibrant action of downtown yet retains a peaceful ambiance away from the chaos.

Named after the iconic America’s Cup, which is celebrated as sailors navigate Brenton Point into the tranquil Newport Harbor, this hotel emphasizes personalized service. Every detail is curated to evoke a comforting sense of homecoming.

Upon arrival, a cheerful valet will welcome you, taking your car while guiding you to the elevated check-in area on the second floor. You can access this space via a stunning glass-and-steel circular staircase or brass elevators.

The interior design reflects the coastal charm of Newport, showcasing rich woods, neutral tones, brass accents, striking nautical photography, and breathtaking harbor views. This independently owned hotel extends a warm welcome to pets, offering a dedicated Pet Concierge service. This includes amenities like a Doggie Walk Map and food and water bowls, all prepared in advance. They can also arrange dog-sitting or dog-walking services if you wish.

Choose from waterview king rooms featuring expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Each room includes a Juliet balcony, perfect for enjoying a gentle salty breeze. These spacious accommodations come with an espresso machine, a well-stocked mini bar, refillable glass water bottles, a desk, a modern bathroom outfitted with Bulgari products, and a separate seating area to enjoy coffee or a nightcap while soaking in the views.

When it comes to dining, their in-house restaurant, Living Room, offers a daily menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The inviting interior feels as cozy as its name suggests, with wingback leather chairs, plush sofas, built-in bookshelves, and low tables crafted for conversation and comfort.

This space also serves as the hotel lobby bar and features sharable menu items such as local oysters on the half shell, delicious jumbo shrimp cocktail with zesty dipping sauce, flavorful hummus variations, a charcuterie board, and scrumptious cheeseburger sliders. Don’t miss the delightful prosciutto, arugula, and goat cheese flatbread enhanced by a sweet fig glaze.

The Brenton also caters to canine guests with its unique “Top Dogs” menu, offering options like grilled chicken and gourmet lamb. Our English bulldog particularly enjoyed the beef burger meant for dogs with a discerning palate.

Post-dinner, you can unwind at the bar with a nightcap, enjoy a cocktail on the seasonal rooftop terrace, or retreat to your room for some chocolate chip cookies delivered at turndown, along with access to complimentary ice cream from the pantry.

The eco-friendly rooftop bar features a six-hole putting green and, while it operates seasonally, visitors are welcome to explore it in the off-season for stunning ocean and city views.

While the hotel lacks an on-site fitness facility, a day pass to the nearby Marriott can be arranged upon request.

This fall, guests can take advantage of a special offer called the Bed, Breakfast, and Books package. This thoughtfully curated deal includes daily breakfast for two, a hand-picked book from the Booktender’s latest selection, and a relaxed 12 p.m. late checkout—perfect for diving into your next favorite read.

This charming escape, The Brenton Hotel, is conveniently located at 31 America’s Cup Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island.
