Recognition of Exceptional Hotels
The World’s 50 Best Hotels is more than just a ranking; it’s a celebration of quality in hospitality. This renowned organization not only awards top resorts and hotels but also highlights bars and restaurants, painting a broad picture of luxury and comfort. This year, the organization expanded its efforts by introducing a longlist of hotels that, while not making the top 50, merit recognition for their outstanding qualities.
With the recent announcement of bars and now hotels, the longlist reveals a diverse array of accommodations, spanning 40 cities and including both well-known chains and charming boutique establishments. This marks the inaugural release of such an extensive list, allowing for a more comprehensive representation of the world’s best hotels.
Geographical Highlights
Italy leads the pack with nine entries on this year’s list, showcasing its rich tradition of hospitality. Among these, the Borgo Santandrea on the Amalfi Coast stands out at 53rd place, proving that the Italian landscape not only captivates the eyes but also offers remarkable hospitality. Europe features a total of 17 honored hotels, while the Asian continent showcases 16, including the top-ranking hotel from the extended list, the Aman Nai Lert in Bangkok. Interestingly, every continent is represented, with the Mount Nelson, a Belmond property in South Africa, being the lone entry from Africa.
The diversity is further emphasized by the inclusion of 13 independently owned hotels among the recognized establishments. Notably, Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland, achieved a commendable 52nd position, underscoring the value of unique, personalized experiences in the luxury hotel market.
